Amy McDougal is a Founding Director and Corporate Secretary for the International Association of Independent Corporate Monitors. She is an attorney certified by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics as a Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP). After graduating from Johns Hopkins University and Vanderbilt School of Law, she served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and an Air Force Judge Advocate General, attaining the rank of Major. In her civilian career, she has served as in-house Associate General Counsel and General Counsel for mid-sized and small government contractors, respectively.

In 2013, Ms. McDougal established her company, CLEAResources, LLC, a Woman- Owned and VA-certified Veteran-Owned Small Business. “CLEAR” stands for “compliance, legal, ethics, and risk.” She assists organizations with development of the compliance and ethics infrastructure required by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other ethics and compliance statutory frameworks. Her team functions as out-sourced Chief Ethics and Compliance Officers for several companies.

Eric J. Conn is a founding partner of Conn Maciel Carey and Chair of the firm’s national OSHA Workplace Safety Practice Group. His practice focuses exclusively on issues involving occupational safety and health law.

Before founding Conn Maciel Carey, Mr. Conn was Head of an OSHA practice group that was honored as the “Occupational Health & Safety Law Firm of the Year” by Corporate INTL Magazine in its 2014 Global Awards. In 2013 and 2014, he was named a "Rising Star" by Washington, DC Super Lawyers, and was included in the Washington Post's Top Rated Lawyers list in Washington, DC.

Katie Smith serves as EVP and Chief Compliance Officer for Convercent. Bringing nearly 20 years’ experience from the high tech, energy, insurance and financial services industries, Katie has implemented ethics and compliance programs for multinational companies. Her professional passion flourishes in building compliance programs from the ground up and raising awareness throughout the company on the importance of proactive compliance and ethics management. 

Before joining Convercent, Katie most recently held the position of Assistant Vice President and Chief Ethics Officer at Texas-based Fortune 500 financial services group USAA. At the firm, she was primarily responsible for promoting ethics and strategic business initiatives; overseeing the development and implementation of ethics communications, policies, guidelines, and training. She served as a trusted internal consultant to leadership on matters pertaining to corporate ethics and investigation of suspected and reported violations of USAA’s Code of Conduct, related policies, and standards.
